Watching youtube Let's Play's (or Twitch livestreams is even better in some cases, although very rare in this games case) of games is almost always the best advice these days. I'd suggest watching some of the better Youtube "let's play" sessions, the ones that don't make your brain dribble out of your ears from bad jokes and egotistical kiddies showing off, and getting a sense of how each plays before making an informed decision. FE isn't a casual game by any means, but it's easier to grasp the positives and negatives of each unit. Overall, AoW3 is much harder, and requires a lot more study to master.
